WHAT WE DO
Trees Provincetown is a community resource dedicated to planting and caring for trees in Provincetown and advocating for their protection and well-being. Our activities include:
  • Working with the Tree Warden, the Public Landscape Committee and other community leaders in Provincetown to draft and pass policies and guidance for plantings, cuttings and care of trees on town property and public shade trees
  • Supporting the Tree Warden, the Public Landscape Committee and local Provincetown non-profits in their tree planting and stewardship efforts
  • Educating the community about the value of trees and how to care for them
  • Planting trees on public and private property to restore and enhance the tree canopy in town
  • Managing Provincetown’s memorial tree program, with oversight by the Provincetown Tree Warden

WHY TREES
Trees Provincetown embodies a commitment to enhance our lives and protect our planet by protecting our trees. The simple act of caring for trees improves life on earth and in this town in many ways. These are the ones that inspire us the most:
  • Trees beautify our neighborhoods and build civic pride
  • Trees release oxygen, clean the air, and mitigate global warming
  • Trees lower air temperatures and reduce energy demand
  • Trees provide a natural habitat for birds and insects, including important pollinators
